In response to the food security crisis brought about by Covid-19, food gardens started sprouting up all over the greater Cape Town area. Gugulethu Urban Farming Initiative (GUFI) are creating backyard and community gardens in order for the local community to become self sustainable and able to eat food with a high nutritional value.
We are making Gugulethu green house by house, street by street, area by area. It is GUFI’s intention and vision to turn Gugulethu into a food forest.
